How to Outline

How to Outline:

This year we will practice outlines in each chapter. Students will be making a chapter outline as they read, making note of at least one fact per paragraph. These outlines will be put in their Interactive Student Notebook (ISN), and used to reference as we study for each unit. 7th Grade Blog

Please follow the class blog to stay up to date on what we do in class, or to get caught up if you miss a day in class. Seventh grade world history will focus on the early part of human civilizations.  We will begin our investigation in the Paleolithic Age and then move on to the early civilizations ranging from Mesopotamia and Egypt to the Greeks and the Romans.  We will look at the different cultures, beliefs, and events that helped shaped the world for these civilizations and seek to better understand the world we live in.

Day in Review:

We began our day with groups presenting their Dynasty awards that they have been working on over the past few weeks. Following presentations we had a brief introduction into Rome and how it relates to previous units, as well as our own country. Students then began a guided reading activity for our chapter Rome: Republic to Empire, which we will continue on Friday.

May 19, 2017

7th Grade

7th Grade had time to work on their China Dynasty projects in class. Projects are due next Friday, where groups will present their awards in front of the class. Students have the option to draw a picture of their awards, or to construct an actual award for each of the dynasties. Homework is to work on the project, and to make up any missing assignments that students have.

8th Grade

8th grade worked on a group project dealing with the causes of the Civil War. Students worked with partners or in groups of three to answer a series of questions about the Civil War. These will be finished up next Tuesday, and we will go over the answers and then move onto the events of the Civil War.  Homework is to read pages 433-438, and then answer questions 1-6 on page 438; Due on Tuesday.
