Day in Review:

Today we continued to discuss law in early Mesopotamia by looking at excerpts from Hammurabi’s Code.  Groups continued their work from last class, and began working on the second side of the worksheet to try to compare laws from Hammurabi’s Code to current laws.  While working Mr. Berry visited each gorup to discuss their findings.


Assignments and Resources:

As a small group students read the laws from Hammurabi’s code.  Once all the laws were read and discussed students then picked five laws to analyze.  Students used the worksheet in order to explain who the law applied to, what it instructed subjects to do, and what the consequence was for not following the law.  Students then began working on the second side of the worksheet comparing the code to modern laws.
