Day in Review:

Today we discussed law in early Mesopotamia by looking at excerpts from Hammurabi’s Code.  We read through some of the laws from the document, and then together as a class analyzed one of the laws and broke it down to describe who the law affected, what the law was telling people to do, and what the consequence was.


Assignments and Resources:

As a small group students read the laws from Hammurabi’s code.  Once all the laws were read and discussed students then picked five laws to analyze.  Students used the worksheet in order to explain who the law applied to, what it instructed subjects to do, and what the consequence was for not following the law.
