10/19/16 – Comparing Paleolithic and Neolithic

Agenda:

  • Evaluate the significance of the Agricultural Revolution
  • Identify characteristics of the Paleolithic and Neolithic Eras

Day in Review:

We began class with a discussion about the drawbacks as well as the benefits of living in a settled community and compared it to the life of foragers.  We then watched a short video on the Agricultural Revolution (note: we watched an edited video, the linked video is the original unedited format).  We then began an activity where students created a Venn Diagram of the characteristics of the Paleolithic and Neolithic age.


Assignments and Resources:

In partners or small groups students were given a copy of the Venn Diagram for the Paleolithic and Neolithic eras.  Students then used the book to research the items listed on the back of the Venn Diagram to determine which category that they should be placed in.  Resources provided are:
